Battles are slowed down in both as well, with the AI's recruitment and build order improved as well. But Lorehammer includes a lot of minor faction rehauls that make them unique to fight and play as, Steel Faith has reskins.Īs for the end game stuff, Chaos invasions are improved, horde respawn time is reduced significantly, alongside their unit comp being better balanced/harder to deal with in each, making them both difficult to combat to make up for the strengthened garrisons. I personally prefer Steel Faith for those. Magic is much better in both, along with the econ and skill tree.

Steel Faith doesn't go quite that far, and has less extra units than Lorehammer, but it's a good starting overhaul mod if you're looking for a greatly improved vanilla game and don't want to learn everything from scratch. Like, both have enhanced garrisons with different composition, but Lorehammer's has walls automatically added to all but Norscan settlements at level 2 along with them having bigger reinforcement range. Both are overhaul mods that completely change/rebalance the game in their own ways.
